APPRECIATIVE & GRATEFUL!

By Peggy S. - Dec 22, 2009

I came to Alan Klein, MSPT at the suggestion of my neurologist, Dr. Norman Pflaster, to broaden my routine of exercise for core muscle strengthening Alan quickly surmised that an old back injury to my sacroiliac was the culprit of chronic back problems and the root of my pain. Alan works with all his patients one-on-one. He does not evaluate you and leave you in the care of someone else. He wants to help you, is empathetic, and insightful. He likes people and genuinely wants you to be at your physical best and believes with his knowledge and experience he can accomplish these goals. That was amazing news after so many years of cautious living to avoid further problems and pain. Alan and I are working hard to make me free at last. Alan was also most helpful with my husband who had shoulder pain since a fall on black ice nearly a year ago. He was having balance problems, too. He had been to a PA and a Doctor who really did not seem concerned with these issues. An x-ray did not reveal any breaks, and because he was of a certain age, he should expect these things. Aleve would help the pain. I mentioned this to Alan, and he suggested getting a prescription for PT so he could evaluate him. Alan worked with my husband and determined he should see an orthopedist for his shoulder. He also determined that my husband's balance problems were real and could lead to a fall and injury and we should see a neurologist. Alan suggested we should have rails on either side of the staircases for ease and balance in climbing and coming down stairs, and to remove all scatter rugs to lessen the chance of his falling. We have proceeded with all these recommendations, and it is such a relief to know that we can do something to improve the quality of his life. It has since been determined my husband has 3 spurs in the shoulder, the MRI results are in, and we will discuss them with his orthopedist, Dr. Marano. Dr. Pflaster's appointment is later this month. Alan's concern, support, encouragement, and positive outlook were just what we needed, and we are most grateful

TAKES THE PAIN AWAY!

By CarlA - Dec 23, 2009

After injuring my back at work, I was sent to Physical Therapy by my neurosurgeon. I was told that my MRI was positive for a large bulging disk. The pain was very bad, constant and went down my right leg also. Every time I stepped on my leg, the pain became worse. After an internet search for Physical Therapists located in Southampton, I came upon the listing and information about Alan Klein. I was impressed with the quality of the reviews about Southampton Physical Therapy and Alan. After several sessions being treated by Alan, I understood why his patients were so grateful. At my most recent PT with Alan, I had been in severe pain. Alan had explained that he was teaching me techniques to what he called, "self correct my pain problem." Alan worked with me that day for a long time, slowly having me reduce my pain by finding different positions that worked. I left Alans office standing up straight, and walking pain free, with the ability to stop the pain myself, by performing a particular exercise and stretch. I am also very grateful for the level of dedication, enthusiasm, knowledge and skill that Alan provides his patients with

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!

By Timarm33 - Dec 15, 2009

I had been in therapy previoulsy at another facility prior to seeing Alan Klein for a very badly stiff, frozen shoulder. Unlike my prior experience, Alan was a dedicated joy. He explained that his favorite joint is the shoulder, and that he has lectured extensively about the physical therapy care of the shoulder. Alan's shoulder expertise gave me back the capacity to play golf again, and I am very grateful for his help. If you are looking for a terrific Physical Therapist, I would highly recommend Alan Klein.

OUTSTANDING PHYSICAL THERAPY!!

By 25mnap - Dec 15, 2009

Would highly recommend Southampton Physical Therapy and Alan Klein. Alan is the most enthusiastic PT that I have ever been treated by. Always there to greet you with a smile and words of encouragement. Alan is consistantly motivating and supportive. I feel like I am being treated like a whole person, not just a problem body region. The front desk staff at Southampton Physical Therapy are patient, kind, and extremely helpful. What a terrific Physical Therapy Clinic.

 ATTENTIVE THERAPY

By JDavis - Sept 21, 2009

After just two sessions it was obvious that Alan Klein cares deeply about his patient's well-being and their success at rehabilitation. His exercises are challenging and advanced, but he is enthusiastic and make the experience fun and motivating. Over the last 6 years I have worked with a variety of physical therapist and this is the first time I feel as though I am really doing work that will help me to regain the strength and motion I have lost. Thanks Alan!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

By chrisb233 - Dec 15, 2009

I saw Alan Klein as a result of my Doctor sending me to him. The Doctors office staff said that all their patients that were treated by Alan, came back and thanked them for the referral. After being treated by Alan, I can clearly understand why his patients are so enthusiastic to praise him. What a wonderfuly dedicated, caring, knowledgeable and skilled Physical Therapist. I have returned to an active lifestyle once again as a result of Alan's help.

PERSONALIZED & PROFESSIONAL

Alan has helped me to feel the best I have been in many years. I highly recommend Southampton Physical Therapy and Alan Klein for your Physical Therapy needs.

EXCELLENT SHOULDER PHYSICAL THERAPIST!!

By Jnne5 - Dec 14, 2009

Alan Klein's shoulder rehab knowledge and skill is exemplary. He essentially saved me from having a shoulder disability. My doctor had previously sent me for physical therapy at another facility, because my shoulder had become very painful and stiff. I was unable to wash my hair or reach my back. The worst part was that I was could not Golf or play Tennis, activities that I am very passionate about. After 6 weeks of therapy, my ability to move or use my shoulder had become worse. My orthopedist said that if I am unable to get my shoulder working, he may have to force it to move while I am under anesthesia. My doctor at my last visit to him suggested that I see if Alan Klein might be better suited to help me. It was a longer drive to his office, but what a wonderful recommendation! It was like night and day compared to the previous physical therapy I was receiving. My great fear was that my therapy sessions would continue to be very painful, and that I would spend a lot of time using machines by myself. Alan Klein worked not only on my shoulder, but also my neck and upper back to help loosen up my stiff joints and muscles. The therapy was not very painful and the results were marvelous. I was also instructed in an extensive home exercise program, which was very closely watched over by Mr. Klein. As a bonus, my Golf and Tennis game have improved as a result of the physical therapy program that Alan Klein provided me. Without a doubt, I highly recommend Southampton Physical Therapy and Alan Klein.

ABSOLUTE BEST!!

By jessj7 - Dec 14, 2009

As an aging avid athlete, I have succumbed to a multitude of injuries. Subsequently, Physical Therapy has been an integral part of my life. What is very different about Alan Klein is the outstanding level of knowledge and skill that he demonstrated. I have had long term sports related injuries that had reached the point of seriously interfering with my leisure time activities. Previous physical therapy has been to no avail. Alan Klein's evaluation of my injuries was in depth and very comprehensive. He pointed out problem areas to me that had previously never been identified by other therapists. The therapy and home program has been very challenging, but never overwhelming. Alan was consistently compassionate and enthusiastic. The therapy I received was actually fun and a uniquely positive experience. Highly recommended

MY HERO!

By angela7 - Dec 13, 2009

My orthopedist sent me to Southampton Physical Therapy on an emergency basis. I had severe back pain so bad I could hardly walk. Alan Klein saw me immediately and I went straight from my doctor's office to physical therapy. Alan was kind, patient, and encouraging. His assistance and support helped relieve my anxiety and the level of my pain. Alan helped me by using what he explained was manual physical therapy techniques. Since my husband and I were out in East Hampton just for the weekend, Alan was concerned and kind enough to see me on Friday, Saturday, and on Sunday as well. If I did not live up-island, I would most surely be seeing Alan Klein for my physical therapy needs. Southampton Physical Therapy and Alan Klein are a wonderful asset for the Hamptons.

THANK YOU ALAN!

By jilly - Dec 12, 2009

After knee surgery, I began PT at another facility in Southampton. About 3 weeks in, I just didn't feel I was progressing. I'd see someone different each time and each had a different approach to treatment. There was no consistancy. Hobbling into PT one day I pulled a calf muscle in the same leg. I was devastated. I could not walk. After crying and pouting for a week, I decided to be proactive and try a new PT. I'd been noticing an ad in the paper for Southampton Physical Therapy. What really caught my interest was the 'Golf Clinician' aspect. Being an avid golfer, it was killing me to miss the season. So I called, made an appointment and began healing. Alan Klein was a miracle worker. In roughly 5 weeks, I was walking without a limp and swinging a golf club again. The difference was an individualized rehab program and working with '1' PT, not 5. I'm back to golfing and was able to dance at my daughters wedding thanks to the wonderful insight and consistant care of Alan Klein, PT. He will 'Fix' you.:)

Southampton Physical Therapy has been a great find for me, recuperating from carpal tunnel surgery. TREMENDOUS HELP!!!

By tangofor2 - Dec 4, 2009

Was referred to Southampton Physical Therapy and Alan Klein by my doctor. I have had a chronic back pain that has kept me from doing many things that I enjoy. Alan spent a lot of time teaching me how to protect my back from pain, use good posture, and do my home exercise program correctly. The physical therapy that Alan has provided me, has allowed me to experience periods of time without the exhausting pain. I am very grateful for his help and assistance.

DEDICATED, HARDWORKING, COMPASSIONATE

Not your average, get the patient in and out physical therapist. I have had Parkinson Syndrome along with debilitating dyskinesia for many years. My prior experience with physical therapy has not been very encouraging. The bright shining star goes to Alan Klein of Southampton Physical Therapy. His approach to my very difficult and challenging movement disorder has been quite unique and innovative. I have progressed to ballroom dancing the waltz with Alan as part of my program of getting better control of my balance and coordination. I can see steady improvement in my walking, and I am falling less. Alan has helped me to improve the quality of my life, along with providing me with many resourceful tools to combat my Parkinson problems throughout my day. My therapy sessions are challenging and motivating. Alan is truly a wonderful physical therapist and a pleasure to work with.

PROFESSIONAL, HELPFUL, ENCOURAGING

By ebg40831 - Dec 2, 2009

I was referred to Alan Klein after being involved in a serious car accident. My lifestyle and occupation was very physical prior to my injuries. Alan gave me the confidence that I could and would get better. He monitored me closely during my therapy, and made sure that I did my exercise homework also. My physical therapy experience with Southampton Physical Therapy and Alan Klein was always very positive. I highly recommend Alan Klein to anyone seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable physical therapist.

MARVELOUS RECOVERY!!!

By bahamagi - Dec 1, 2009

When I arrived here, I had an extremely bad injury. I couldn't move my arm due to a badly damaged shoulder and torn tendons. I couldn't move my arm at all. Now 3 months later, I have normal movement and fantastic use of my shoulder. Due to Alan Klein's dedication and determination to get my life on track, I am back to playing golf again and enjoying life. Little did I know that he was a shoulder specialist, and a golf clinician. At first I thought it would be an ordeal to travel 3 days a week from Westhampton Beach to Southampton, but I found with the progress I have made with Alan, it was worth every mile. My orthopedist recommended Alan, and I thank them both everyday. I now have full use of my shoulder, and I'm returning to the game of golf.

OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!

WONDERFUL PHYSICAL THERAPIST: ABSOLUTE...

By jasmoel - Sep 15, 2009

Alan Klein is the most outstanding physical therapist that I have ever worked with, and I have had extensive experience with physical therapy and different physical therapists'. I had total knee surgery, and no matter how good your surgeon is, you need to have a great, dedicated and hard working physical therapist to get your life back. I have been lucky to have had Alan as my physical therapist. After the surgery to my knee, I had a severe loss of motion and my surgeon was very upset. He said he might have to put me to sleep and bend my knee. I was eventually referred to Alan Klein by someone who had first hand experience working with him. Alan was truly unlike any other physical therapist I have been treated by. He used manual physical therapy techniques that were not terribly painful, and loosened by stiff knee up. Alan also recommended to the surgeon that I acquire a special knee brace that would help gently stretch out my knee. No one else had suggested that. My home exercise program was closely supervised and monitored by Alan. The importance of doing my homework was nicely and enthusiastically encouraged. Working with Alan so closely, provided me with the opportunity to learn what a fine and dedicated physical therapist and unique person he is. Our community is blessed to have Alan Klein for our physical therapy needs. For the very best physical therapy in the Hampton's, Alan Klein is the physical therapist to be treated by.

EXCELLENT PHYSICAL THERAPIST!

By pfezza - Sep 14, 2009

This is a testimonial to the outstanding physical therapy care provided by Alan Klein, PT, of Southampton Physical Therapy When my son and I were involved in a car accident in May, neither of us knew that the pain and discomfort we would feel shortly thereafter, would have such an impact on our daily lives. Previously we were both healthy individuals but being in a car accident has changed our lives. Things that we took for granted, such as walking, jogging, and biking and even playing sports, has been altered. Alan has helped me and my son tremendously. Alan has worked with us individually in order for us to regain a feeling of stability. Alan has treated us with the utmost respect, kindness and caring for our over all well being. His patience and knowledge of his profession has certainly benefited the two of us as his patients. His techniques and mannerism are traits that would be difficult to match and hard to come by. My son and I have been truly blessed to have found such a caring individual who truly loves the profession he has been “chosen” to do. Any person and or patient would be lucky to have such an exceptional, uniquely qualified physical therapist assisting them on their road to recovery... I am thus grateful.

GREAT PHYSICAL THERAPIST!

By mbarrylevy - Sep 4, 2009

The therapy there is terrific....the best physical therapy I've had! Alan Klein is exceptionally skilled and knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the nature of my problem, the game plan for my rehab, and closely monitors my progress. He also clearly explains the reasons for any exercises he recommends, and, most importantly, the correct way to do them (which, incidentally, has already improved my golf game). I highly recommend Southampton Physical Therapy. You owe it to yourself to feel better.
